Bison Show Reserve: This is a hit for every child. We guarantee that seeing a mighty bison, wolf, elk or lynx up close will stay in their memory for a long time. The reserve is about 4 km from Białowieża, easily accessible by car, with parking right next to the entrance. Tickets are reasonably priced, comparable to a good restaurant meal, but it’s worth buying them online, especially in season, to avoid long queues. Come early in the morning when the animals are most active.

Trześcianka: Start here. It’s one of the best-preserved villages, and its wooden Orthodox church is a true gem.

The most popular are the “Długa Luka” footbridge near the Tsar’s Road and the “Barwik” footbridge. At their end, you’ll often find viewing towers from which you can watch birds. Supraśl and Knyszyńska Forest: Active and cultural
Supraśl is a true pearl of Podlasie, combining the charm of a small town with cultural richness and proximity to nature. Located on the Supraśl River, on the edge of the Knyszyńska Forest, it offers plenty of attractions for families with children.
Monastery of the Annunciation: This is the only male Orthodox monastery in Poland. Children may be fascinated by its beautiful architecture and interiors, and you can tell them about the diversity of cultures and religions. Remember appropriate attire (covered shoulders and knees).

By the way: Supraśl is also known for its spa climate, so every breath here is pure pleasure. You’ll find parking without a problem in the town centre, usually cheaper than parking in a big city.

Podlasie cuisine is a true feast for the palate, and most importantly – it’s very filling and kids love it! Forget about fast food; here tradition and local products rule.
Kartacze and potato babka: This is an absolute must-try! Kartacze are large potato dumplings with a meat filling, and babka is a baked potato cake. You’ll eat something really delicious here at a very affordable price, comparable to an inexpensive pizza.
Regional restaurants and agritourism: Instead of looking for expensive places, choose proven, family-run agritourism farms. They often offer home-cooked food “straight from the cow”, and kids can run around the yard and see the animals.
